QMD was established in 1972 as a Commodity Science Institute. In 1997, it changed the name into Commodity Science and Quality Management Department, while in 2005 it was renamed into Quality Management Department. From 1997 till now, the Head of the Department is Prof. Tadeusz Sikora.
Research activity:
Implementation, functioning and implementation of the quality management systems (ISO 9000, branch systems of quality management, intergrated quality management systems). Food safety management (obligatory systems: GMP/GHP, HACCP, voluntary systems ISO 22000). Total quality management and other management concepts. Risk analysis in management systems. Conformity assessment system. Human factor in management systems, internal and external client in an organization. Economic aspects of quality, costs of quality. Psychosocial aspects of quality management. Service quality. Multicriteria decision support methods AHP/ANP.
