The programme starts is autumn 2014.
STEP 1 (April 1st - September 1st)
Submitting documents
- master diploma and transcript of records
- bachelor diploma and transcript of records
- certificate validating sufficient knowledge of English (certificates recognized by CUE )
- application form
- cover letter
- research proposal
- one recommendation letter (from the University or from the employer)
- copy of passport or official Identification Document (ID) (Only those national ID's, which are legally acknowledged by the Republic of Poland will be considered, e.g., ID's from Schengen Area.)
We send each master diploma to the Ministry of Higher Education to check student's eligibility for PhD programme in Poland. Approximate wait time for Ministry's decision is 1,5 month.
Please, check the list of certificates validating knowledge of English accepted by our University. The minimum level of the English language knowledge required for the PhD programme is B2 (according to the European Council).
Early application is encouraged. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
STEP 2 (by September 30th)
Selection of candidates
Candidates will be selected by the Recruitment Committee based on documents submitted in STEP 1. The Recruitment Committee will assess the following elements:
- Formal requirements (whether all requested documents were submitted on time)
- Candidate's research proposal
- Candidate's cover letter
- List of candidate's publications
- Fellowships, academic internships candidate participated in, guest lectures candidate conducted
- Conferences candidate attended
The decisions on admissions will be made by the end of September. Pre-acceptance letters will be issued at the beginning of October.
STEP 3: (by November 15th - only for admitted candidates)
1. Submitting documents:
- Legalised master diploma and transcript of records
- 2 photographs (45mm x 65mm and 35mm x45mm) We require good quality photos taken by a photographer. We do not accept copied, scanned or paper photos.
- medical certificate
- copy of health insurance
2. Payment for the first year of studies (for details regarding fees and bank account number, please click here )
Please, note that we issue full-acceptance letter only after receiving all the documents mentioned above and payment for the first year of studies. Candidates who need full-acceptance letter for visa issuance, are kindly requested to deliver the documents and pay for first year of studies much in advance. Candidates who fail both to deliver the documents mentioned above and pay the tuition fee for the first year by 20th November will be automatically rejected.
STEP 4: in Krakow
Submitting documents:
- Polish translation of the diploma and transcript of records made by a sworn translator- original master diploma and transcript of records (available for inspection)
- copy of passport or ID (available for inspection)
- copy of visa/ residence permit/ Karta Polaka (if applicable)
For STEP 1 and STEP 3 we accept scanned copies of documents. The documents should be sent via email, mail or delivered personally.
