Streszczenie
W opracowaniu przedstawiono istotę koncepcji performance management jako nowego, kompleksowego podejścia do zarządzania organizacją na podstawie oceny wyników oraz jego genezę i ewolucję. Zaprezentowano również najnowszą koncepcję wykorzystania idei performance management w ramach systemu wspomagania decyzji określaną jako business performance management. Omówiono różnice pomiędzy business intelligence i business performance management. Wskazano korzyści stosowania rozwiązań klasy business performance management.

Abstract
The article presents the concept of performance management as a new, complex approach to organisation management based on the results of an evaluation. The origin and evolution of performance management are described, as are the differences between Business Intelligence and Business Performance Management, and the benefits of using the latter of these two. The newest concept for applying performance management as a part of the decision-making process, described as Business Performance Management, is shown.
